Freaked Out
I just found out my friend is a ‘Meth Head.’
He came over to my place and told me he’s been using
it for a year and a half. He's up to using 3-4 times a week.
I had no idea. He just gave me his bank card and asked me
to not let him do it. I'm freaked out.... What can I do to
help him?

This can be a tough situation to support a friend through.
It's great that your friend trusts you and has let you know
how serious his fears are. Try to be as non-judgmental as
possible (maybe stay away from terms like meth-head) - he's
probably judging himself enough. Start by letting him know
that you're glad he's shared this info with you and that you
want to help. One way is to find information for him about
crystal, making sure he's as educated as possible (educating
yourself at the same time), and that he knows the safest ways
to use. If he's interested in stopping/reducing his use, you
can also help him research ways to do that.
Self-care is important too. You need to be aware of what
your limits and boundaries are. If you aren't comfortable
with anything being asked of you, it is okay to say that to
your friend. Whatever support you offer, it is important to
remember that he is ultimately the one who has to take whatever
steps he feels necessary to deal with this.
TIP: This
site is full of information that might be helpful for you
and your friend. You might want to begin with the SUPPORT
section. There are articles there for friends of people who
want to know the best ways to help.
