Meet our Panel

Meet our panel

All members of our volunteer panel give of their time to answer your questions because they care about our community. The ‘Question of the Week’ panel of experts and experience currently includes:


NICK BOYCE

Nick went to high school in Toronto and has a B.Sc. in Psychology from Dalhousie University in Halifax. After coming out as gay he was drawn to the rave scene and has since been taking part in Toronto’s nightclub and party scene for the past several years. Nick has been involved with TRIP! (formerly the Toronto Raver Information Project) for 6 years and is an active member of the Research Group on Drug Use in Toronto. He currently works at the AIDS Committee of Toronto.

BRIAN FINCH

Brian, an out HIV positive gay man and former crystal meth user, works in the community around access to HIV treatment advocacy issues. He has been positive for over 20 years, and has intimate experience with most of the party drugs in the gay community.

CHRISTOPHER HADDEN

Christopher is the Service Manager for the Rainbow Services program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health. He is a social worker and therapist who has been working with gay and bisexual men with substance misuse issues since 1997.

DUNCAN MACLACHLAN

Duncan draws on his personal experience as an HIV positive gay man and former Tina user. He is an educator in the fields of BDSM, psychology, spirituality and holistic health. Duncan is currently a student in the Addictions and Mental Health programme in the Department of Psychology at Ryerson University and a volunteer at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health.

NELSON PARKER

Nelson is a gay man who is one of the counsellors at the David Kelley Services, a program of the Family Service Association. He works in both the LGBT and the HIV/AIDS Counselling Programs where he provides individual, couple, family and group counselling to lesbians and gay men, and people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS, who present with a variety of concerns. As well, he provides workshops and trainings on issues related to lesbian and gay clients. Nelson’s background is in psychology and social work, with a B.A. from Carleton University, a B.S.W. from York University, and an M.S.W. from University of Toronto. He has volunteered and worked in the lesbian, gay, and HIV/AIDS communities for over a decade.


SHAUN PROULX

Shaun is a Toronto writer who contributes to The Globe and Mail, is publisher and editor of GayGuideToronto.com, and a feature contributor and columnist (Cocktail Confessions) with Xtra! and Outlooks. He has written about crystal methamphetamine for The Globe & Mail and Xtra!.
